On Aiding Strangers

We used to appreciate those who like to help others, but nowadays people tend to be very cautious of strangers, because they scare of unnecessary trouble. As for me, I'm in favor of trying my best to help others in a reasonable way.

First of all, I should say "mutual help" is one of the distinguishing traits of human beings from animals, since helping each other brings warmth, kindness and harmonies to this world, just as what Michael Jackson proclaimed in his songWe Are the World is that giving a hand to those in trouble can make the world a better place. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the world is becoming increasingly indifferent at present in that few people are willing to assist strangers for fearing of blackmail. But actually, I wish we put our feet into strangers' shoes to understand the significance of our help to them. Certainly, in order to avoid involving in unnecessary trouble, it would be better for us to choose an appropriate way when helping strangers. For example, to help a person who was falling into river, seeking others' help is better than jumping into the river if you cannot swim at all.

However, offering help is a virtue. By helping others, one could have a feeling of content and pride, a sense of achievement and the realization of one's own value. So it is high time that we opened our mind to strangers to be as civilized men. If you can do your favor, then go ahead.
